Conrad's Summer Adventures-The Final Installment: Layton and Meredith get Married!

Prepare yourselves for the longest blog post in the history ever. Ready? Mmmk.

I thought about doing it in multiple installments, but hey! Why not do one massive amazing one, thought I. So here we are.
-------------------------------------------
Stage One: The Set up the night before.

The Reception was held in Santa Cruz at the home of very good friends. It was an inside outside party, so the upper level of the home was used, as well as the driveway, which served as the dance floor under a sky of twinkly cafe lights. The fire brought welcome warmth and ambiance.
^taking a 'set-up' break by the fire-which comes through glass rocks..what? yes^

Stage 2: "We're getting married in the morning!"

Okay. So not me. But them. I couldn't stop singing the song all night long the night before.
So I guess the real stage 2 is called: Go to Oakland to get married!

The grounds of the Oakland Temple are beautiful and overlook San Fransisco. Layton and Mer had their bridals taken the night before by Justin Hackworth on the beach, so pictures in Oakland were chill and fun, and lovely and we had so much fun. And obviously the sealing was perfect, the temple was beautiful and was made even more so by the fact that a new Bird family was created right here:)
Whitney's hubs Austin couldn't make it to the wedding as he was already full fledgedly in his P.A. program in L.A. Luckily Whit could still join us for the happy occasion!
^ The view from the roof of the temple^
Sister Time! Minus Nikelle sadly...
Now let me tell you some amazing things about Meredith. She graduated in art with an emphasis in clothing construction. She designed, patterned, and made her entire wedding dress. She is bomb. She currently works at a local bridal salon doing all the alterations, and even gets to be present at the buyers meetings and say which dresses they will or won't buy for their store.
And for another brag moment, Nikelle is an amazing florist. She did these flowers. And the ones for Whit's wedding. And the ones for Kaloni's. She is an artistic genius of all God's creations. I am excited to see the earth that she gets part in creating some day.
^The lovely Mateson Family! Thank you Brett, Julie, Ruby, and Max for sharing Mer with us:) Another side note, the lovely Ruby above got her mission call, Oaxaca Mexico baby!
Congrats Rubes!

Stage 3: The Part-ay!

All I can say when I think of this wedding is ohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh.
Get the idea? yeah now let me use my words. It was in one word - F.U.N. The food was amazing and was from an asion fusion food truck. The weather was perfect, The beach was so near. The bride and groom, spectacular. The dancing, a blast. The company, perfect.

^They had love tree! It was an olive tree and was used as the guest book.
We all wrote a dream, advice or good wishes and hung them on the tree.
^this food was amazing! It was from an asian fusion food truck, and was to die for^
And of course you had to include the bird theme, because now Mer is Mrs. Layton Bird :)
^She had her daddy dearest are so adorable. They are very close and you could tell.
So precious.

Sadly, I spent the rest of the time dancing the night away, meaning I was way too busy enjoying myself to take any photos. You'll have to visit Justin Hackworth's site for those.

Layton and Mer I know you've been married for a month and a half already. Sorry it took me so long. But I truly wish you an eternity of wedded bliss. The wedding is the easy part.
Marriages take work. But the benefits are worth any price.

I love you.

  2. LOVE your pics!! I am glad that someone else was taking pictures, beside Justin. Thanks for this post!! Although, the wedding being the "easy" part is debatable. Especially by the mother-of-the-bride, hee hee.

  3. Oh my god! I can’t take my eyes off these pictures. It looks mesmerizing! It is one of the best event locations I have ever come across. The lights and the marquee look gorgeous. Also, I would like to add that the couple looks amazing together. They compliment each other very well.
