Tutorial: No-Sew (almost) Re-size a Skirt

(Sorry for the super screwed up lighting above. The settings on my camera were set for when I was taking pictures of fireworks, and when Kelly took these, I didn't fix all the settings....woops)

Ever thrifted a skirt that had fabulous potential, but was way to big? Or for any other reason, have something cute, but too big to actually wear, hanging in your closet? If you're anything like me, you don't want to take the whole thing apart to fix it. Well I made this skirt ages ago and haven't worn it for years because it was so big.  I finally decided to pull it out and do something about it. I wasn't too keen on ripping the thing apart, but I decided I could do this:

  1. That is magically resourceful! Now you need only find some way to magic more fabric onto items that have seemed to shrink...ahem...or something.
